Glossary

RC Paper — Widely use for wedding album, portrait, or trade show graphics. Resin Coated, as opposed to fiber based print. Not generally considered archival. Available in luster, glossy, or matt finish.
Fuji-Flex — Fuji Crystal Archive material.  Fujiflex is a PET (polyester) based material, 7 mils thick with a super smooth, high gloss finish. It has extended contrast, exceptional colors, deep blacks and clean whites. Recommended if front mounting to plexi is desired.
100% Rag —  310 gsm paper is a wonderful bright white with exceptional smoothness for excellent color and black & white photographic output. It is also 100% cotton fiber, mould-made and is PH neutral, acid free and lignen-free. This heavier weight is specifically engineered for wide-format inkjet printing and is water resistant.
Canvas — UltraStable "Century" 20 mil Matte Canvas. This is 20 mil Matte canvas. The testing UltraStable has done with Wilhelm-Research indicates that the matte inkjet coating that they are using will extend the life of the pigments by about 50%.
B&W Paper — HARDMAN GALERIE FB DIGITAL is 315gsm BW fiber base baryta paper  producing a true B&W silver gelatin print or digital B&W fiber base print.
Front Mounting — .  The image is mounted against a sheet of plexi material ( face mounted.  The graphic face is attached to a  clear acrylic sheet by using optically clear adhesive, and the back of the image is mounted to another substrate. The image is sandwiched between the two sheets. There are many kinds and thickness of substrates for backing.  Such as Plexiglas (Dual Plexiglas),  Sintra, Dibond, Gatorboard. The most common combination is 1/8"  of 1/4" Plexigas front mount and 1/4" black Sintra back mount with wood inset frame in the back.  The wood inset frame has a French cleat for easy installation. The clear acrylic give the image a 3D look while protecting against moisture and physical damage.  The  front plexi can be beveled if desired.  UV and scratch resistant plexi is an option.
Perma-Stable Chrome — A “Chrome” print is a custom printed job where the print is actually fused into a top polyester coating on the surface of smooth white finished .045 aluminum.  The image is not mounted onto the surface... it actually fuses with the metal.  It is very scratch resistant and can be cleaned with glass cleaner or water.  The black of the image is denser than any photo or art paper, producing a print with a higher color saturation.
The print comes with a hanger that floats the print about 1.3”  from the wall  using a “floating” frame and comes with a brushed black edge.  Additional hanging options are available.
Limited Edition — Limit Edition Images of 50 are printed as Giclée Prints on Canvas, Fuji-Flex or 100% cotton Rag.

Giclée Print — A French word meaning to spray or squirt. The giclée process uses incredibly accurate computer controlled jets with streams as small as 1/100th the width of a human hair to apply pigmented inks to specialty papers or canvas. These materials have special coatings to accept the pigment inks used in making giclée prints.
